Testimonials

"Josey McMahon has been a great mentor for me over a number of years. I first met Josey McMahon in April 2011 when she was Manager and a Community Enabler with the Community Enabler’s Project – a new initiative funded by State Government. Josey came into my life after I had applied for funding through the Community Living Initiative – an initiative developed to support people with disability to live independently in their own home and to have as much as possible a good quality of life. I had moved from the country to take up life in the city because of health issues.

Over the years it is easy to settle for the path of least resistance when life becomes a struggle. I had ideas about what I wanted but looking back they did not offer such a well-rounded existence. I tended to settle for the path of least resistance and needed a gentle push to go for more which in my case was better for me and those in my life. Josey teased out with me what I wanted to do in my life and helped me work through what would be good for me and my life. She gave me some very useful information and suggested some great ideas of how I could go about obtaining certain things that would enhance my life.  Josey was a very valuable cheer leader, particularly when challenges came my way.

Thank you Josey and I hope your days are filled with the beautiful music of life " - Mary Marin

"I have had the pleasure and good fortune to meet Josey McMahon in mid-2012. I had received  a “one off” grant to assist me for support for my son who has a long term disability.  I had to go through a lengthy process to obtain “recurrent funding”. I didn’t know where to start. I was referred to Community Enablers and Josey was appointed my Consultant. Josey attended my home on many occasions.

On 28th October 2012 we moved house, and on the 29th October (following day) I had a fall and badly dislocated my right shoulder and had to have major shoulder surgery on the 6th December 2012. The application had to be in by the 10th December 2012. I was in a great deal of pain and discomfort. Josey kept me focused during this time. She introduced me to others for some planning sessions to assist in my application. I did not know that these people existed and places existed. I was successful in my application, but I could not have done this without Josey’s assistance. Her knowledge is incredible. Josey kept in regular contact with me until the Community Enablers Project ceased in March 2014.

Josey has a bright personality, a good listener, and a big heart. I cannot speak highly enough of her and recommend her for any work that comes her way. I know that if and when I need further assistance I will seek out Josey. She is a great person to have in “your corner” - Pat Doherty
